About My Bookshelf 4 Kids, Inc.

Our Story

Promoting Literacy, One Book at a Time

My Bookshelf 4 Kids, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was founded by Keegan Flury and her sister Neliana Flury with the aim of improving literacy rates among children who lack access to books. Inspired by Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, Keegan and Neliana recognized the transformative power of books and their ability to shape the future of young minds. Our mission is to provide children from low-income families with age-appropriate books that they can call their own, fostering a lifelong love for reading and empowering them through education.

Our Events

Formally established since 2022; Collecting books since 2021

Keegan and Neliana care deeply about kids and their community.  They have partnered with the Oasis Center for Women and Girls in Tallahassee, Florida; Second Harvest of the Big Bend in Tallahassee, Florida; Youth Opportunities in Kissimmee, Florida; ACE (Adult & Community Education) in Leon County, Florida; Boys and Girls Club of the Big Bend in Tallahassee, Florida; and Boys Town of North Florida to distribute books.  They worked hard to give away books during 2023 Hurricane Idalia relief efforts in Perry, Florida.

Join Our Mission

Help Us Make a Difference

Your support can help us continue providing books to kids in need. Whether you donate, volunteer, or spread the word about our cause, every contribution matters. Join us in promoting literacy and empowering children through the gift of books.

We accept all books from pre-K to high school level.  We have given away picture books, chapter books, magazines, and graphic novels (comic books).  We also collect and give away books for grownups.  We have found that the grownups accompanying children to our events also desire books. Cook books, historical novels, and how-to books get swooped up fast!
